This was part of a design challenge for ENGR717, Foundations of Engineering Design.

Overview

Team Members: Maggie Byrnes, Joshua Haupt, Micah Jabbour, Jesse Nathenson

During this challenge, we learned how to use arduinos. We created a “useless” machine that eventually culminates in sharpening a pencil.

The Sharpener

We rescued the electric pencil sharpener from the basement of Pitt’s engineering building, Benedum Hall. I fixed the electronics inside to get it working again.
